Liam James Payne (29 August 1993 – 16 October 2024) was an English singer and songwriter. He became famous as a member of the band One Direction. In 2016, Payne signed a recording deal with Capitol Records as a solo artist,[2] and with Republic Records in the United States.[3]
After One Direction's hiatus, Payne signed a recording deal with Republic Records in North America.[4] In May 2017, Payne released "Strip That Down" as the lead single from his debut album. It peaked at number three on the UK Singles Chart and number ten on the US Billboard Hot 100.
His debut album, LP1, was released in December 2019. He sold over 18 million singles in under three years after One Direction's hiatus.[5]
[6]Liam died from blunt force trauma due to the fatal fall from a third-story balcony at the hotel Casa Sur Palermo Argentina Buenos Aires. Payne before dying at the age of 31, was extremely intoxicated by drugs and alcohol a few hours earlier.
Payne died on 16 October 2024 after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, at the age of 31.[7] Police were called to the hotel after getting a call about "an aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs and alcohol".[8]
Police later said that several medications were found in his room, including clonazepam, and that a whiskey bottle was found in the courtyard where his body was found.[9] An autopsy showed that Payne died from internal and external hemorrhages and multiple traumatic injuries.[9][10] Experts reported 25 injuries were caused by the fall and said that Payne's brain injuries were "enough to cause death". The examination found no signs of a fight and said that Payne was alone in the room at the time of his death.[11][12]
