Pierre Deladonchamps was born on June 1, 1978, in Nancy, France. Growing up with his older brother Guillaume, Pierre initially had no dreams of acting, considering it an unattainable profession. Despite his mother's occupation as a schoolteacher and his father's as a journalist, Deladonchamps pursued business studies at Sup Est while concurrently attending theater courses.
In 2001, a chance encounter led Deladonchamps to audition for Cours Florent, a prestigious drama school in Paris. His performance impressed the instructors, who invited him to join their program. For the next nine years, he immersed himself in the performing arts in the French capital.
Deladonchamps' film debut came in 2003, but it wasn't until 2013's "Stranger by the Lake" that his career gained momentum. His portrayal of a gay man searching for love earned him the Most Promising Actor award at the César Awards. He continued to shine in critically acclaimed roles, including "The Son of Jean" (2016) and "Family Photo" (2018).
In 2019, Deladonchamps took on the lead role in "Notre-Dame," a comedy centering on the restoration of the iconic cathedral. The film garnered praise for its depiction of the cathedral, which had suffered a devastating fire shortly after filming wrapped. In 2021, he appeared in "Eiffel," a romantic drama based on the life of Gustave Eiffel.
Pierre Deladonchamps is happily married to a woman from his hometown of Nancy, and they have two children together. In memory of his late brother Guillaume, a songwriter, Deladonchamps performed a concert of Guillaume's compositions and directed the short film "For My Brother."
In 2022, Deladonchamps starred in the drama "You Will Not Have My Hate," based on a memoir by a journalist who lost his wife in the Bataclan terror attack. He also shared the lead role in the romantic comedy "Clean Slate."
